Many customers ask about the materials used in their Cyclone Rake. Here's a comprehensive guide to the construction of your equipment's key components.
High Density Polyethylene (HDPE)
MDA (Mower Deck Adapter) - Specifically designed for higher air flow and fewer clogs than other grass catcher boots on the market
MDA collars
Blower housing - Our standard Blower Housing includes a steel liner inside for extra protection
Blower collars
Exit chutes
Other main hard plastic components
Metal Components
What are the latches made of? All connections are made by heavy duty solid steel spring-loaded latches with a holding force of 70 pounds each. We use at least 10 of them on every Cyclone Rake, and even more on accessories. They are polished triple-plated chrome like our other moving parts.
What is the collector frame made of? The collector frame is made of 18 gauge 1" square steel tubing.
What is the chassis frame made of? The Chassis frame is made of 14 gauge, 1 1/4" square steel tubing.
Fabric Components
What is the Collector Bag made of? The collector bag is woven from 1200 Denier waterproof and rot-resistant polyester with sun-fade UV protection and a pure polymer backing that stays flexible for years, the same material used to make high-end luggage and marine-grade rope. It's also thermally bonded with a PVC lining. Seams are double or triple-sewn with special industrial-strength synthetic polymer thread that never rots or weakens. Top screens are solid polymers that are impervious to abrasive dirt, dust, and stones. Even the collar that connects the bag to the blower chute is solid steel (not elastic fabric) with two 70-pound spring-loaded latches for a secure attachment.
