SuperHauler Operation Guide and Specifications

Prev Next

The SuperHauler is designed for reliable performance and ease of use. This guide covers operation basics, specifications, and maintenance tips to help you get the most from your equipment.

Operation Basics

Hydrostatic Transmission Operation

The SuperHauler features a hydrostatic transmission with no gears to change - it automatically adjusts speeds:

  • Forward motion: Push down on the brake release lever and pull up on the forward/reverse control

  • Speed control: The more you pull, the faster you'll go (completely variable speed)

  • Reverse motion: Push down on the brake release lever and push down with your right thumb on the forward/reverse control

  • Safety feature: The transmission is adjusted so reverse is slower than forward (to prevent accidents)

Speed Specifications

  • Forward speed: 3-4 mph maximum

  • Reverse speed: 1-2 mph maximum

Free Wheel Mode Troubleshooting

If you're having difficulty moving the SuperHauler in free wheel mode:

  1. Ensure you've pulled out the bypass pin completely to disengage the clutch

  2. Verify you've pushed down on the dead man levers on the handlebars to release the brake

  3. Check that the terra traction pedal is lifted (not engaged)

  4. Be aware that cold temperatures cause the transmission fluid to thicken, which can restrict movement

Chain Maintenance

Regular chain maintenance ensures reliable power transfer:

  • Inspect chains periodically and clean if covered with dirt and debris

  • Use a cleaning brush and proper chain lubricant (not WD-40 or regular motor oil)

  • Check for excessive slack or chains "popping" over sprocket teeth while under load

  • Adjust or replace chains according to the owner's manual instructions

FAQ

What is the Terra Traction feature?

The Terra Traction feature helps when one of the front wheels starts to slip by locking both front wheels together. To activate it:

  • Pause the throttle (release the forward/reverse lever)

  • Step down on the Terra Traction pedal with your foot

This gives you better grip when you're stuck or slipping. Once you're moving again, just pull the pedal back up to release it.

Heads-up: Leaving Terra Traction engaged during normal driving makes the SuperHauler harder to steer, so it's best used only when you need that extra traction.

What is the centrifugal clutch?

The centrifugal clutch keeps things simple when starting the engine. At low or no RPM, it stays disengagedβ€”so the engine isn't connected to the drive belt, idler pulley, or transmission just yet.

  • When pulling the recoil starter or turning the key, you're only turning over the engine, not the whole system.

  • As the engine speeds up, the clutch automatically engages and starts driving the belt and transmission.

This helps make starting smoother and easier without having to fight all the connected parts right off the bat.
