The Cyclone Rake Single model provides excellent maneuverability with its single-pin connection, but proper hose management is key to optimal performance. Here are solutions to the most frequently asked questions about operating your CRS:
Hose Won't Stay Off the Ground
If your hose is dragging on the ground, you'll need to adjust the positioning of the hose hammock and hose hanger mount:
For hose dipping toward the mower deck: Use the front-most position for the hose hanger mount
For hose dipping toward the mower: Use the rear-most hose hanger mount
Fine-tuning: You may need to adjust the hose hammock forward or backward slightly to get the perfect position that keeps the hose completely off the ground
Hose Keeps Pushing the Hose Hanger Upward
This typically happens when the hose hammock is tied too tightly to the hose hanger.
Allow some slack between the hose hanger and hose hammock
This slack is essential to allow for natural repositioning when the unit is in motion and turning
If tied too tightly, the hose can't adjust properly during operation and will push up on the hanger, potentially causing damage
Turning Problems (Hose Hits Mower Tire/Bent Latches/Bent Strikes)
When operating your Cyclone Rake Single, turning angle is important:
Maximum turning angle: Keep turns to less than 80 degrees
This prevents the hose from hitting the mower or getting caught under the rake
Sharp turns beyond this angle can cause the blower inlet collar latches or strikes to bend
Remember that the CRS model is designed with enhanced maneuverability while maintaining stability, but proper operation within its design limits will ensure years of trouble-free service.
