Cyclone Rake Single (CRS) Hose Positioning and Turning Issues

Prev Next

If you're running into trouble with the hose on your Cyclone Rake Single not staying up or behaving oddly while turning, you're not alone. These tips will help you get things adjusted so everything runs smoothly and stays safe.

Hose Won’t Stay Up?

If your hose seems to droop or fall toward the mower deck or ground, here are a few adjustments you can try:

  • Check the Hose Hanger Mount Position:

    • If the hose dips toward the mower deck, move the hose hanger to the front-most mounting position.

    • If it dips toward the mower, use the rearmost mount instead.

  • Adjust the Hose Hammock:
Slide it slightly forward or backward to help balance the hose and keep it from dragging. A little fine-tuning here can make a big difference in keeping the hose off the ground.

Hose Keeps Pushing the Hose Hanger Up?

This usually means the hose hammock is tied too tightly to the hose hanger. That tension can force the hanger to lift when you're turning or moving, possibly leading to damage.

  • Loosen Up a Bit:
You’ll want a bit of slack between the hammock and the hanger. This gives the hose room to shift naturally while you're turning or navigating uneven terrain.

Trouble While Turning?

If the hose is striking your mower’s tire or you’ve noticed the latch or strike on the blower inlet collar bending:

  • Watch Your Turning Radius:
Avoid making turns tighter than 80 degrees. Going sharper than that can cause the hose to swing too far, hitting the mower or even getting pulled under the Cyclone Rake unit.

Keeping your hose in the right spot ensures a smoother experience and helps prevent wear or damage over time. A few small adjustments can go a long way!
