Properly connecting your deck hose is essential for optimal Cyclone Rake performance. This guide addresses common questions about deck hose installation, length issues, and overall width considerations.
Installing the Deck Hose with the Mower Deck Adapter
If your Cyclone Rake uses one of our mower deck adapters (MDA), we have a step-by-step video guide showing proper installation for all systems (7", 8", and 10"). The video provides clear instructions on securing both ends of the hose and ensuring proper alignment for maximum airflow efficiency.

Troubleshooting a Short Deck Hose
If your deck hose seems too short or keeps pulling out of the collar, try these helpful solutions:
Adjust the insertion depth - The deck hose doesn't need to be fully threaded into the collars. Try pulling it out slightly to gain extra length.
Modify the hitch position - Adjust the hitch fork assembly to bring the Cyclone Rake closer to the back of your mower.
Allow for natural expansion - New hoses may need time to stretch after being packed in shipping boxes. Letting the hose sit in a warm spot can help it expand to its full length.
Request a replacement - If the hose still feels too short after trying these steps, take a few photos of your setup and contact us. We'll be happy to send a replacement hose of the appropriate length.
Width Considerations
Adding the MDA and deck hose will increase the overall width of your Cyclone Rake by approximately 1.5 to 2 feet. Here are the total estimated widths for each model with the MDA and deck hose attached:
Classic: 53 inches
Commander: 61 inches
Commercial Pro: 66 inches
XL: 66 inches
Z-10: 72 inches
These measurements are important to consider when planning storage space or navigating through gates and other narrow passages on your property.
