Estate Vacuum – Common Questions & Answers

Below are answers to some common questions about the Estate Vacuum and its components, including recent updates based on customer feedback.

FAQ

What is the rubber band that used to come with the Estate Vacuum?

The old β€œrubber band” was officially called the Rubber Friction Ring. It wrapped around the hose couplings to help keep the connection secure and protect the latches from being exposed.

We have now moved to using the Estate Sleeve in place of the rubber ring, as it provides more consistent protection and doesn’t catch on outdoor surfaces.

Why do the latches pop open when I use the Estate Vacuum?

If the latches are coming undone during use, it’s usually because the couplings aren't secured with the correct cover. Previously, the Rubber Friction Ring (now replaced by the Estate Sleeve) was used to secure the latches and prevent accidental opening.

If you don’t have the Estate Sleeve installed:

  • The latches may catch on the ground and pop open

  • You can rotate or switch the couplers in the middle so the latches face upward or inward β€” this positions them to go β€œwith the grain” while dragging and helps prevent opening

What’s the difference between the old Power Vacuum Pickup and the new version?

What’s the difference between the old Power Vacuum Pickup and the new version?
In Fall 2019, we redesigned the vacuum wand on both the Power Vacuum Pickup and Estate Vacuum. The new ergonomic wand makes it easier to sweep up piles of wet leaves, pine cones, pine needles, and acorns.

It also features:

  • An adjustable design for added convenience

  • A padded shoulder strap for improved comfort during extended use

If you’d like to purchase the updated wand, look for New PVP/EV Wand Complete with Strap.

Why did we change to the Estate Sleeve?

Based on customer feedback, we found that the rubber band (called the Rubber Friction Ring) that was originally used to keep the two hose pieces of the Estate Vacuum connected would often catch on twigs, shrubs, and pavement edges when dragged across the ground. This caused it to roll off the latches, exposing them and increasing the risk of separation.

To address this, we've replaced the rubber band with the Estate Sleeve. This updated part provides more secure coverage and helps prevent debris from interfering with the hose connection.
