Have you recently purchased a new tractor/mower that you would like to use with your Cyclone Rake? Or maybe you've acquired a Cyclone Rake in the second-hand market? This guide will help you identify and obtain the correct components to connect your Cyclone Rake to your new equipment.
Understanding the Three Connection Points
There are three critical connection points between your Cyclone Rake and your tractor/mower. It's important to get the right components, as tractor configurations vary widely between brands and models. Unfortunately, one size does not fit all when it comes to these connections.
1. Mower Deck Adapter (MDA)
This attaches to your tractor/mower deck and directs the debris from the mower deck toward the Cyclone Rake collector unit. Because all mower decks are different, it's important to get the proper adapter so it fits your specific tractor/mower and does the job well.
Important Note: The Mower Deck Adapter must also match the model of Cyclone Rake that you have, as the output openings between models vary in size (7", 8", or 10" depending on your Cyclone Rake model).
2. Deck Hose
The deck hose runs from your Mower Deck Adapter to your Cyclone Rake engine/blower housing. This hose's diameter will correspond with the model of Cyclone Rake you have, and the required length will be based on the distance between your mower deck and the Cyclone Rake engine/blower opening.
3. Hitch
The hitch attaches to the back of your tractor/mower and creates the dual pin connection that will allow you to tow your Cyclone Rake without jackknifing. Like the Mower Deck Adapter, this is specific to the make and model of your tractor/mower.
Identifying the Parts You Need
To find the correct parts for your new tractor or mower, you'll need:
Make and full model of your tractor/mower (e.g., John Deere X350, Cub Cadet XT1 17AIEACMA10 , etc.) If you are having trouble finding your full model number, here is a resource to help!
Deck size (typically measured in inches, such as 42", 48", 54", etc.)
Your Cyclone Rake model (Classic, Commander, Commercial PRO, XL, Z-10, or CRS models)

FAQ
Can I use my old Mower Deck Adapter with my new tractor?
In most cases, you'll need a new Mower Deck Adapter (MDA) when switching to a different tractor or mower brand. Even within the same brand, different models often have unique deck designs that require specific adapters. The MDA is designed to create a perfect seal with your particular mower deck, so using a mismatched adapter can result in poor suction and debris collection.
If you're moving to the exact same model of tractor (perhaps just newer), you may be able to use your existing MDA, but we still recommend confirming compatibility with our team to ensure optimal performance.
What if my tractor/mower model isn't listed in your online selector tool?
Don't worry! Our online selector tool covers the most common tractor and mower models, but we're always adding new equipment to our database. If your model isn't listed:
Call our customer service team at 888-531-7253 - Our specialists can help identify the right parts for virtually any mower on the market.
Email photos of your mower deck - Clear pictures of your mower's rear and discharge area help us identify the correct components.
Provide exact measurements - If possible, measure your deck height, discharge opening dimensions, and the distance from the rear of the mower to the discharge opening.
We've been connecting Cyclone Rakes to all types of mowers for over 25 years, so even if yours is uncommon or new to the market, we can help you find the right solution.
Do I need to buy a new deck hose if my new mower has a different deck size?
Possibly, but not always. The deck hose length requirement depends more on the distance between your mower's discharge chute and where the Cyclone Rake blower unit sits behind it, rather than just the deck size. Here's what affects your deck hose needs:
Mower chassis length: If your new mower has a longer chassis than your previous one, you might need a longer hose to reach the blower unit properly.
Discharge location: Some mowers have side discharges positioned further forward or backward, which can change hose length requirements.
Hitch configuration: Different hitches position the Cyclone Rake at varying distances from the mower, affecting how much hose you'll need.
Deck size considerations: While larger decks sometimes correlate with longer chassis, it's not a direct relationship. A 54" deck on one brand might require the same hose length as a 48" deck on another.
