Prev Next

If you're looking for a replacement heat shield for your 8, 9, or 10 HP engine, here's what you need to know:

  • The correct part number for the heat shield that fits between the blower housing and the engine is Briggs & Stratton part #799041.

  • We no longer sell this part directly, but it’s readily available through online parts retailers.

  • A reliable option is [Jack’s Small Engines – insert link here], or you can search for the part number online to find other sources.

There are two types of heat shields you might come across:

  1. Contact shield – This one was designed to prevent direct contact with the muffler. We no longer use or supply this version.

  2. Engine-mounted shield – This is the one that goes between the blower housing and the engine. Part #799041 refers to this version.

If you’re replacing a heat shield and aren’t sure which one you have, it's most likely the engine-mounted version if your Cyclone Rake is newer.
