If you have an older Cyclone Rake model with a Tecumseh engine, you may occasionally encounter issues that need addressing. Since Tecumseh closed their doors in February 2009, we no longer carry replacement parts for these engines, but we can still help point you in the right direction.
Common Issues and Quick Fixes
Slipping Throttle
If the throttle on your Tecumseh engine is slipping down during operation:
Remove the air filter to access the carburetor area
Locate the small brass nut or screw alongside the throttle
Tighten this screw firmly (but don't overtighten)
This will press a plate against the slider of the throttle knob, helping it stay in position
Finding Replacement Parts
Unfortunately, we discontinued using Tecumseh engines some time ago and do not carry replacement parts. The specific Tecumseh models used in older Cyclone Rakes were:
Model #OHH50 (5.0HP engine)
Model #OHH60 (6.0HP engine)
For replacement parts, we recommend:
Visiting Jack's Small Engines
Consulting with your local small engine repair shop
Engine Replacement Options
If you're considering replacing your Tecumseh engine entirely, we offer two current engine options:
XR950 engine
6.5HP Cyclonic Vanguard Engine
Both options are compatible with your Cyclone Rake and offer improved performance and reliability.
