Troubleshooting Battery Assembly Installation for Electric Start

Prev Next

Installing the battery assembly onto the motor frame can sometimes be a tight fitβ€”especially the first time around. If you're finding that it just won’t go on, there’s a specific issue to check first.

Check the Battery Platform Angle
The most common reason the battery assembly won’t mount properly is that the battery platform isn't bent to a true 90-degree angle. This slight misalignment tilts the battery, which prevents the entire assembly from lining up correctly with the motor frame.

How to Know if This is the Issue:

  • The battery feels like it’s leaning or not sitting flat.

  • You can’t get the battery assembly to line up with the mounting holes.

  • No matter how you adjust it, the assembly won’t seat flush against the motor frame.

What to Do About It:
If the battery platform isn't at the correct angle, unfortunately, it’s not something you can adjust easily on your own. The best course of action is to replace the battery platform. A correctly shaped platform will allow the battery assembly to mount securely and safely.
