Why Isnโ€™t There a Battery-Powered Cyclone Rake (Yet)?

Prev Next

We get this question fairly often, especially with so many yard tools going electric these days. While it might seem like a natural next step, there are a few key reasons why we donโ€™t currently offer a battery-powered Cyclone Rake.

Hereโ€™s the short version:

  • Power Needs Are High: The Cyclone Rake requires a strong, steady stream of power to run its high-performance blower and generate the suction needed to lift and collect heavy, wet leaves, pine needles, and other yard debris. Right now, most commercially available battery systems just canโ€™t deliver that kind of performance for a full cleanup session. The good news is that battery technology is evolving and as it gets better, more reliable, and less costly, the opportunity to provide a battery driven product increases.

  • Battery Life Would Be Limited: Even if we turned up the power to meet the performance needs, todayโ€™s batteries would drain quicklyโ€”meaning youโ€™d have to stop and recharge far too often.

  • Cost and Weight Concerns: The kinds of high-capacity batteries weโ€™d need are still very expensive, and loading enough of them onto a Cyclone Rake would add significant weight. Thatโ€™s not something we want to pass on to our customers.

Are We Working on One?
Yesโ€”we are actively exploring ways to bring electric power to the Cyclone Rake. While we canโ€™t share exact details just yet, battery-powered options are part of our long-term product roadmap.
Weโ€™re committed to making sure any electric version lives up to the Cyclone Rake nameโ€”tough, reliable, and built to perform. When the right technology is ready, we will be too.
