Cyclone Rake Collector Bag Maintenance Guide

Keeping your Cyclone Rake's collector bag clean and well-maintained ensures optimal performance and extends its lifespan. Here are our recommended cleaning procedures for both the bag and Velcro components.

Collector Bag Cleaning Instructions:

If you choose to pressure wash your collector bag, follow these important guidelines to avoid damage:

  1. Use only low pressure settings

  2. Select a wide-spray tip

  3. Maintain a safe distance from the fabric to prevent holes

  4. Allow the bag to dry completely before storage to prevent mold

Velcro Maintenance:

The Velcro fasteners require a gentler approach:

  1. Allow any debris in the Velcro to dry completely

  2. Gently clean with the top screen brush or a nylon brush

  3. Use a shop vacuum for stubborn debris

  4. Never use a pressure washer on Velcro components

Check the Wear Strips on the Collector Bag

Your Cyclone Rake collector bag has two replaceable vinyl wear strips. One wear strip is located inside the bag collar. The second is located to the rear of the collector bag, behind the top screen. Inspect them each time you set up your machine for use. Replace them if they are worn through or show signs of heavy abrasion. They mount easily with metal snaps.

Note About Replacement Snaps For Older Models:

For those with older model collector bags, we do not sell replacement snaps or the rear vinyl insert separately. Our tech support team recommends purchasing a 10 mm pearl snap kit, which can be found at craft stores like Joann Fabrics or through online retailers.

To install these replacement snaps:

  1. Use an exacto knife to carefully cut a small slit in the collector bag

  2. Push the pearl snap through this opening

  3. Align the new snaps to match the positions on your rear vinyl insert

Important Note:

Proper drying time is essential before storing your collector bag. Even slightly damp storage can lead to mold growth and fabric deterioration.
