Having trouble getting the axle installed on your Cyclone Rake CRS? You're not aloneβthis step can be a bit tricky the first time around. Here's how to work through the common issues folks run into, with a handy video to walk you through the process: How to Install the Caster Pads & Wheels on the CRS
Common Axle Installation Tips
Grease the Axle Ends
Before you get started, be sure to remove the protective caps from the axle and apply a little light grease to each end. This helps the axle slide through the wheel bearings more easily and reduces friction.Follow the Fork Orientation
Make sure both wheel forks are angled back toward the rear of the Cyclone Rake chassis, as shown in Fig. 6. This orientation is important for correct wheel positioning.Install the Axle One Side at a Time
Begin by holding one of the wheel forks and a wheel or wheel set (for dual wheels). Slide the axle through the outer side of the fork, through the wheel hub(s), and out the opposite side of the fork.Important: Be sure both bearings inside the wheel assembly stay properly aligned on either side of the wheel hub. If theyβre off-kilter, the axle wonβt pass through cleanly.
Repeat for the Other Fork
Once the axle is through one wheel fork, continue sliding it across and repeat the same process for the second fork and wheel.Secure the Axle
Use the washers and bow-tie pins you removed from the box to lock the axle in place on both sides.
Still Stuck?
If the axle wonβt slide through or seems misaligned, double-check:
The wheel bearings are centered and not tilted.
The axle isnβt catching on the inside lip of the fork.
The forks are properly spaced and not bent inward.
