What To Do When Hitch Holes Don't Line Up With Your Tractor

Prev Next

When installing your Cyclone Rake hitch bar, you might discover that the pre-drilled holes don't perfectly align with your tractor's mounting area. Don't worryβ€”this is a common situation with a simple solution.

Why This Happens

With hundreds of different tractor and riding mower models on the market, each with unique rear plate designs, it's simply not possible for our standard hitch bar to have pre-drilled holes that match every configuration. While some customers might get lucky with a perfect match, most will need to drill at least one new hole to ensure proper installation.

The Solution

You'll need to drill custom holes in the hitch bar, the tractor's rear plate, or sometimes both. Our Owner's Manual provides detailed instructions for this process, but here are the key steps:

  • Position the hitch bar at the proper height (approximately 12 inches from the ground)

  • Center it between your tractor's rear wheels

  • Mark the locations for drilling

  • Create the new holes using an appropriate drill bit (typically 3/8")

  • Secure the hitch bar with the provided hardware

This minor modification ensures a perfect fit for your specific tractor model and creates a solid mounting point for your Cyclone Rake.
